Both Pantan's Japanese and English names come from Pan (possibly a reference to Peter Pan's red hair, Pan - the Greek god of mischief, or red panda) and tan (refering to its lighter fur color). Pan was also the name of one of my cats who himself was an orange maine coon.
--EXTRA NOTES--
This particular picture is incorrectly colored. The inside of its ears, snout, chest fur, and stripe outlines are supposed to be a cream or light tan color, its nose is supposed to be pink, its marking should be a bit browner, its eyes should be a yellowish or copper color, and the inside of its mouth should be dark pink or red.
I have to say, I love this Pokemon. I liked that sprite, but this is awesome! Also, I just might take a crack at the Evo, since I missed the Deadline for the interpretation thing.
